This is a story I found that I can relate to very very well.
Its not everyday you catch your mom doing something stupid (its normally the other way around) and you just cannot afford to forget something as precious as this.

"My mother, a meticulous house keeper, often lectured my father about tracking dirt into the house. One day he came in to find her furiousy scrubbing away at a spot on the floor and lauching into a lecture. '"I dont know what you've brought in,'" she said, "'but I can't seem to get this out."'
He studied the stuation for a moment and, without a word, move a figurine on the window-sill where the sun was streming in.
The spot immediatly disappeared."
